Maracas Bay | Palm Trees, Rolling Waves, & Lunch with a Bes' View

Arguably the prettiest beach in Trinidad (Tobago beaches not considered), Maracas Bay offers a 2km long crescent shaped bay, lined with tall swaying coconut palm trees, off white sand, and rolling waves, with the Northern Range is it's backdrop.

The Unfinished Church | Another Cloudy Day Adventure

Seemingly the ruins of an ancient time, this is one of the more 'modern' structures on the island.

The Royal Naval Dockyard | Living History

Located at the very tip of the southwestern hooked end of the island, The Royal Naval Dockyard was established by the British Royal Navy after defeat in the American War of Independence left Britain without a secure operational base between Halifax, Nova Scotia and the West Indies.

Travel | In Transit

As you read this I'm probably flying over the Atlantic watching the crisp white roofs become tiny dots and the turquoise waters melt into darker seas.

The Greatest Show on Earth

TRINIDAD CARNIVAL

"An explosion of colour, music, revelry, and creativity, Trinidad's Carnival has spawned similar celebrations around the world; but nothing on earth can rival the abandon, euphoria and stunning spectacle of our festival."

Fall in Bloom

As much as I don't like the cold, I found myself in New York in October...moreover at the END of October!  Although its not frigid, it is colder than my average comfortable.

NYC Summer '15

Looking down as my chariot chauffeurs me off to my vacation destination
A short time spent away from our regular everyday routine lives is sometimes all we need.  As short as a spa day to a month long retreat.  Time away allows us to truly appreciate life, as we have the opportunity to experience that which really make this life one worth living.

Taking a Short Trip

I'm currently on a short vacation trip to New York.  Seeing family, friends and soaking up that NY City Summer life.  I've haven't been to NY in the summer in years!  I wasn't looking forward to the sweltering, stagnant city heat I remembered.  After having returned to island life, I've come to truly appreciate the soft refreshing tropical breeze.  I was however really looking forward to some things though, like Brunching (of course!)

As I prepared for this trip I reflected heavily on my recent post Vacation... Staycation Tips.  Again I found these really helpful through my packing process, and they continue to be true as the sunny summer days of my trip go by.

If you haven't checked out the tips, you can browse TNT Tips.  Especially if you're preparing for that one last trip before summer is over.
